The Golden State Warriors could be interested in adding an NBA champion from the Milwaukee Bucks to their current core.

It’s no secret that Golden State is looking to add guard and wing depth after losing De’Anthony Melton for the season to an ACL injury.

The Warriors have been linked to Donte DiVincenzo in this regard, but the Dubs might also take a look at DiVincenzo’s former teammate in Milwaukee, another three-and-D threat by the name of Pat Connaughton.

Connaughton, 31, won an NBA title with the Bucks in 2021. He’s an elite athlete who would provide Golden State with the type of two-way versatility they lost in Melton.

What’s more, Connaughton could become available on the trade market this winter, according to a new report from ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel.

“Donte DiVincenzo … and Pat Connaughton are worth mentioning in connection to the Dubs, seeing as they … make less than what Melton is earning this year,” Siegel said.

“If Connaughton was on the Warriors' radar in trade talks, it would be in a multi-team deal that the Milwaukee Bucks are looking to make. It is no secret to anyone around the league that the Bucks are desperately looking to add depth and length on the wing, and Connaughton's $9.4 million contract is one of Milwaukee's only paths to potentially adding talent since they are a second apron team and can't aggregate salaries.”

Connaughton is in year two of a three-year, $28.3 million veteran extension. He has a $9.4 million player option for next season.
