Real Madrid are having a tough term this season, with the La Liga trophy being their only hope of silverware, apart from the FIFA Club World Cup.
Following their recent loss in the Copa del Rey final, several reports surfaced suggesting Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti would be taking his leave from Santiago Bernabeu by the end of this season. The Italian manager's current contract at the club is set to expire in the summer of 2026.
Some major changes are also anticipated in the Los Blancos squad to ensure a successful run next season. However, it appears one of the veterans is in the club's plans for the next campaign and will be extending his stay at Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid will be reaching a new agreement with their first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in the upcoming weeks, according to Relevo.
What would be Thibaut Courtois' expected tenure in Real Madrid's new contract?
Courtois arrived at Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2018 and has since been a key part of the squad. His current contract with the Spanish giants is valid until the end of next season.

The Belgian shot-stopper has been sidelined with different injuries in the ongoing season, missing 13 games for club and country. Despite that, Courtois' contributions on the pitch have been consistent, with 14 clean sheets in 43 matches.
Now, according to the aforementioned report, Courtois will be receiving a contract extension, with the official announcement expected following the end of the La Liga season. The 32-year-old's new deal is said to be valid until the end of 2028.
While Real Madrid are known to only give one-season extension to their players over the age of 30, the club seems to be making an 'exception' for Courtois.
"It's an exception, because Courtois is an exceptional footballer," explained Relevo's sources.
Overall, Courtois has kept to 111 clean sheets in 279 appearances across competitions for Real Madrid and it seems that Madridistas will be able to witness the goalkeeping maestro for two more years.
