Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Aston Villa to bring Marcus Rashford back early from his loan spell.
The England forward, who picked up a hamstring injury in training last week, is unlikely to play again this season.
Villa’s final game is against United — a match he’s not allowed to feature in — so Rashford’s last outing in claret and blue may have already happened.
He joined Villa in January on a loan deal that included a £40 million buy option.
While his numbers weren’t eye-popping — four goals and six assists in 17 games — he showed flashes of his old self.
Now, with the injury sidelining him, a decision must be made between the clubs. And quickly.

What could be Marcus Rashford's next move: Homecoming or new chapter?
Villa boss Unai Emery confirmed the injury, saying, "He got injured this week and yesterday we did a test — it is his hamstring. We are going to try to test him each match but he’s injured and probably won’t be available for some weeks."
If Rashford can’t recover in time for Villa’s clash with Tottenham on May 18, United may call him back to complete rehab at Carrington.
That move would also give the club more control over his fitness ahead of a potential summer sale.
Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim didn’t seem too sentimental about the player’s January exit either. “We lost these players… That was a risk,” he said. “But we are trying to do something more important.”
Whether that “something more important” includes Rashford remains to be seen. While Villa could still trigger the buy clause, Rashford’s future may hang more on heart than hamstrings.
At 27, he's at a crossroads. Stay and fight for a future at Old Trafford, or take a leap elsewhere — perhaps where the pressure is less and the fans sing his name a little louder.
