Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals continue their quest for the Stanley Cup as they battle the Hurricanes in their second-round series.

Washington roared into the playoffs on the heels of a dominant regular season, buoyed by Ovechkin, who became the NHL's all-time goals leader. But playoff demons followed them into the first round: The Capitals had not won a first-round series since 2018, when they won the title.

Washington outlasted Montreal in a contentious five-game series, with Ovechkin netting four goals and Dylan Strome notching a team-high nine points.

That sets the stage for a rendezvous with the Hurricanes, who made quick work of the Devils in their first-round series, winning in five games. Sebastian Aho led the way with eight points, while Andrei Svechnikov found the back of the net five times. Carolina is in the second round for the fifth consecutive season.

The two teams have only met once before in the playoffs, clashing in a first-round series in 2019; the Hurricanes came away with the series win in seven games.

Here's what you need to know to watch Capitals vs. Hurricanes, including broadcast information and start times.
