The Detroit Tigers have one of the most intriguing pitchers in all of baseball currently at their High-A affiliate.

His name is Kenny Serwa. And he throws the fastest knuckleball in the history of baseball.

Serwa headed into the offseason as an indy ball pitcher with no interest from MLB teams. That's when he went to Tread Athletics and blew up.

There, they worked for 12 weeks to hone his arsenal and make him stronger.

The result is a knuckleball that he can throw 88.5 miles per hour.

The Tigers signed him, and he's been a stud at High-A.

His stats so far: 2.13 ERA in 12.2 innings with a 0..63 WHIP, 10.7 K/9 and a .122 opponent batting average.

Because Serwa is 27 years old, the Tigers don't have a ton of incentive to slow-play things.

Expect him to get tested at Double-A soon, and if he succeeds there, the majors could be coming sooner rather than later.

That'd be an incredible outcome for a guy who had never gotten a sniff from affiliated ball.

And it'd be fun for baseball to get that knuckleball to the major leagues.
