Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders was once pegged as a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. By the end, he went No. 144 overall, which came in the fifth round when the Cleveland Browns ended his stunning slide.
Numerous reports have surfaced since then, including one saying people were told that Sanders "sandbagged" some of his pre-draft interviews.
There has been a lot of discussion since the draft about Sanders' free fall, so questions remain about exactly why NFL teams passed on him over and over again, although several reports that came out were from anonymous sources.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce unloaded on the anonymous reporting around Sanders in a fiery rant on the New Heights podcast.
"I think whoever's a (expletive) anonymous that's saying this should come out and say who they were," Kelce said with tons of expletives in the rant. "I feel like there's no validity to it. I'm not sure why he dropped. I'm not sure whether it was the interviews or whether it was stuff they saw on film."
"I could see him being the starting quarterback in Cleveland," Kelce said at the end of the rant while hurling out curse words left and right.
Kelce also said he liked what he saw on Sanders' tape, so he really isn't sure why he fell that far. The Browns even selected Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel in the third round before taking Sanders, so it was quite the stir regarding Deion Sanders' son.
