Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona live score: Copa del Rey result, updates, stats from semifinal second leg image

On the heels of a wild and wacky first leg, two La Liga giants will meet to determine the final Copa del Rey finalist as Atletico Madrid host Barcelona.

Both sides threw two-goal leads away at various points in the first leg from Catalonia, before a stunning Alexander Sorloth goal in the 93rd minute leveled the score for good.

These two sides then logged an equally thrilling match in league play two weeks later, as Barcelona reversed a 2-0 deficit with four goals in the final 20 minutes to win 4-2.

With the understanding that bigger Champions League matches lie on the horizon, these two sides will be expected to once again throw everything they've got onto the pitch in Madrid. Either way, the result will provide a rivalry match in the final.

Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona live updates, highlights from Copa del Rey

1 hour 45 mins to kick: Given how wild the last two matches between these two teams have been, we're expecting even more goals today.

You can read my preview of the match here with predictions and picks, and check out my spot on SportsGrid earlier today discussing the game.

2 hours to kickoff: Raphinha was rested for both of Barcelona's last two games coming out of the March international break. The Brazilian struggled against international rivals Argentina in a heavy defeat, and may have needed some time to rest up for a big stretch run.

It will be interesting to see what a rested Raphinha has in the tank over the next two months, as he not only pushes for trophies on the club level but also the Ballon d'Or on an individual level. He's ready to go for this match today.

Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona lineups, team news

Robin Le Normand went off after a nasty clash of heads in last weekend's draw with Espanyol. Although Atleti said later that they had no concerns over possible longer-term damage, the defender is not likely to be involved on Wednesday. Clement Lenglet and Jose Maria Gimenez should start instead, just as they did in the first leg.

Otherwise, the team is likely to be very similar to the one that lost to Barca in La Liga just before the international break. Conor Gallagher could come into the midfield four, either in place of Samuel Lino or Giuliano Simeone.

Atletico Madrid projected starting lineup (4-4-2): Oblak (GK) — Llorente, Gimenez, Lenglet, Reinildo — Simeone, De Paul, Barrios, Gallagher — Griezmann, Alvarez.

Barca expect to have Raphinha available again. The Brazilian sat out the wins over Osasuna and Girona last week, with coach Flick preferring to rest him after his return from World Cup qualifying duty.

Dani Olmo has an adductor injury that will likely keep him out for three weeks, so Gavi is tipped to start as the No. 10 in front of Pedri and Frenkie de JongAlejandro Balde and Pau Cubarsi should return to the lineup in defence.

Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen trained with the squad on Monday for the first time since suffering a serious knee injury last September, but he is not expected to supplant Wojciech Szczesny just yet.

Barcelona projected starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Szczesny (GK) — Kounde, Cubarsi, Martinez, Balde — Pedri, De Jong — Lamine Yamal, Gavi, Raphinha — Lewandowski.
