The Dallas Cowboys have the 12th pick in the draft and have not found a reliable receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb. They could make a trade for one.

Landon Holifield of "Sports Below the Surface" proposed this trade that would prey on the Pittsburgh Steelers' need for a new quarterback:

  • Cowboys receive: 21st overall pick and George Pickens
  • Steelers receive: 12th overall pick

Holifield suggested the Steelers would use the 12th pick on Jaxson Dart. Meanwhile, the Cowboys would still have a pick in the first round and address their need at wide receiver.

Pickens is going to be a free agent after the season, and the Steelers may not be able to afford him after they gave DK Metcalf a five-year, $150 million extension. Pickens is a budding superstar and has been a victim of inconsistent quarterback play in Pittsburgh.

Spotrac projects him to earn a four-year, $94 million deal in free agency. It will be hard for the Cowboys to find a receiver as talented as Pickens in the draft. They could move down in the first round and finally land a partner for Lamb.

Pickens could have a breakout season with Prescott throwing him the ball and Lamb drawing most of the attention from defenses. Pickens has 2,841 career yards and had 900 yards in 14 games last season. The Cowboys are under pressure to reach the playoffs after missing out last season, and Pickens could help them get back on track.
