Desmond Watson has a chance to be the heaviest player in NFL history.
The University of Florida product measures in at 464 pounds. He said in the pre-draft process that NFL teams want him to drop some weight, but that's his official listing until announced otherwise.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Watson in undrafted free agency. It's created some excitement about Watson potentially getting on the field with 350-pound Vita Vea.
But Bucs website Pewter Report doesn't see that happening. In fact, they have a disappointing take instead.
"Perhaps Vea can help be a mentor to Watson to get his weight under control so he’ll have a chance of sticking on Tampa Bay’s practice squad," Pewter Report writes. "At over 400 pounds, I don’t think he makes the 53-man roster, but we’ll see."

Clearly, if an NFL team had thought Watson had a true chance of being a difference maker, he would've been drafted.
Instead, he's in position to be a potential wild card with an uncertain role.
Is he the "Tush Push Terminator" or just a big guy who can't quite contribute?
That's what the Buccaneers will spend training camp trying to figure out.
Watson has a great potential mentor in Vea, so hopefully he uses that. NFL fans want to see the 6-foot-6 beast out there doing his thing. Hopefully the Bucs give him his chance.
