The dust has settled from the NFL Draft, and the New Orleans Saints hope to stay competitive in the NFC South.

Despite the massive question marks surrounding the quarterback position, New Orleans is still looking to compete rather than rebuild.

They haven't made many additions to the wide receiver room, outside of bringing back Brandin Cooks.

Should they be looking to beef up the depth in the room alongside Chris Olave, the Saints could look at former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report listed New Orleans as a potential landing spot for the five-time Pro Bowler.

"While Cooper seemed a shade slower in 2024 than in 2023, he's still a terrific route-runner with the size (6'1", 211 lbs), strength and hands to serve as a quality No. 2 receiver or possession specialist on the perimeter. The five-time Pro Bowler has also been fairly durable throughout his NFL career," Knox wrote. "Like (Keenan) Allen, Cooper would be a strong option for teams that want to pair a young quarterback with a veteran pass-catcher. A return to Buffalo, which didn't draft a receiver before taking Kaden Prather in Round 7, could also make sense."

The Saints exercised the fifth-year option for Olave while Rashid Shaheed will reprise his role as the deep threat with Kellen Moore bringing his offense over from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cooks is currently the No. 3 wideout in the room, but Cooper could immediately push for that role if he's signed.

Spotrac projected a two-year, $37.8 million deal for Cooper at the beginning of the offseason, but it's unlikely he'll land a deal in that range now.

The Saints would have to continue moving money around but if they feel the need to make an addition to the wide receiver room, Cooper is probably one of their best options.
