Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has found his name in headlines since the 2025 NFL Draft - and not for good reasons. During the draft, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders was the subject of an unfortunate prank call.
Later, it was revealed that it was Jax Ulbrich, the son of the Falcons DC, who found the number on his dad's iPad and made the call to Sanders. As it turns out, it wasn't only Sanders who was prank called. Browns defensive tackle and former Michigan star Mason Graham also was the subject of a prank call, as was Tyler Warren, although it remains to be seen who was on the other side.
On Wednesday, the NFL decided to fine Jeff Ulbrich $100,000 and the Falcons organization $250,000 for the prank call, due to failing to prevent the disclosure of confidential information distributed to the club in advance of the NFL Draft.
The son of the Falcons DC did apologize on social media, although it turned out to be a costly prank for his dad and the Falcons.
As such, Jeff Ulbrich just lost a good chunk of his salary. According to Front Office Sports, Ulbrich is earning $1.6 million in 2025, which means the $100,000 fine is roughly 6% of his salary.
That's a tough outcome for a prank by his son, and the Ulbrich family just lost a good chunk of cash due to the turn of events.
