Micah Parsons was the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He’s played four seasons in the league, earning a Pro Bowl nod all four times.
Previously, Parsons would avoid the Cowboys’ voluntary offseason workouts, choosing to stay in shape on his own. However, as the 2024 season was winding down, the two-time All-Pro sack master said he’d be attending the team’s voluntary workouts in 2025.
With the Cowboys' superstar defender trying to negotiate a contract extension that makes him the NFL’s highest-paid defender, some wondered if Parsons would be changing his tune as a negotiation tactic.
After all, the Cowboys’ voluntary workouts begin Monday, April 14, and there had been no indication whether Parsons planned on attending.
However, as the Cowboys shared on their X social media page, Parsons kept his word by showing up to workouts with the rest of his teammates.

Even Dak Prescott, who ended last year on the injured list following his season-ending hamstring injury, is in attendance, though his participation is expected to be limited.
Parsons is headed into the final year of his contract, and being a good teammate is sure to help him during upcoming contract negotiations. Plus, getting him back in the building should help put any silly offseason Parsons trade rumors to bed.
