Adam Reynolds shoulder injury: Latest news and updates on Brisbane Broncos halfback image

Brisbane’s dream night ended in a potential nightmare with Adam Reynolds taken from the field with a shoulder injury during his side's 42-18 win over Canterbury.

The Broncos halfback was at the heart of his side’s ambush on the ladder-leading Bulldogs as they romped to a 34-0 lead in the first half.

Reynolds scored the second in the early onslaught but copped an injury in the process of crossing the line which appeared to come back to haunt him in the second half.

Adam Reynolds suffers shoulder injury during Brisbane's win over the Bulldogs

Reynolds stayed down under the posts while he was attended to by a trainer after landing awkwardly on his right shoulder following an attempted tackle from Max King.

The veteran was able to play on after the initial pain as he laid on two tries during the first-half demolition.

However, with just over five minutes remaining on the clock, Reynolds went down to the turf again after copping minimal inside pressure from Bailey Hayward.

The No.7 floated across the face of the defensive line before dishing off a pass out the back to Ben Hunt. But as soon as he made the pass he pulled up sore and went off.

"Very early diagnosis, it’s hopefully just a burner," Jake Duke reported from the sidelines on Fox League. "They’re hopeful that it’s just the pain of that initial shock and it will die down."

Adam Reynolds cuts concerned figure in post-match press conference

Reynolds cut a somewhat dejected figure in the post-match press conference, admitting he was unsure how bad the injury actually was.

"It's a bit sore," he said.

"It went dead on me when I scored that try - pins and needles. And then I got it pretty bad again with that last one.

"It's okay now but I'll see the medical staff when I get back. They'll have a look at it and then we'll go from there. It feels okay at the moment but it was pretty sore."

Reynolds was quizzed on whether he thought the shoulder injury was just a burner, yet he refused to confirm this as he voiced his concern that it may be a more serious issue.

"I got pins and needles and it was sort of burning but the last one felt pretty bad," Reynolds revealed.

"It was worse than when I scored the try, so I'll get back to the club and see what they say."
