World no.1 Aryna Sabalenka will be bidding to be only the sixth woman to win three consecutive Australian Open titles.
The Belarusian was queen of the hardcourt season in 2024, also winning the US Open at Flushing Meadows.
Her contenders will likely come out of three other major winners in Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek.
The likes of Jessica Pegula, Karolina Muchova, Naomi Osaka and Jasmine Paolini could make deep runs but will need plenty to go their way.

Who will win the Australian Open 2025 women's singles?
Aryna Sabalenka
It's hard to look past Sabalenka as a potential winner of the Australian Open for a third consecutive time due to her utter recent dominance.
Incredibly, Sabalenka has only dropped one set in her last two Australian Open title wins - in the final against Rybakina in 2023.
She does have a tougher draw this year with US Open 2017 winner Sloane Stephens in the first round, while teen phenom Mirra Andreeva will likely be waiting in the fourth round.
Coco Gauff (USA)
Getting an Australian Open champion first-up isn't ideal for Gauff, as she takes on Sofia Kenin in the first round.
Kenin has been improving significantly over the past 12 months but did lose to teenage Aussie Maya Joint in Hobart.
Gauff will have to deal with Pegula and Muchova in her quarter before Sabalenka is likely present in the semis.
Elena Rybakina (Kazahkstan)
Rybakina - a 2023 Australian Open finalist - had an injury-affected year in 2024, reaching the semis at Wimbledon, but bombing out in the second round at Melbourne Park and Flushing Meadows.
However, there is no denying the Kazakh's ability to challenge the world's best when she is fit, which she appears to be for Australian Open 2025.
Rybakina has a nice draw first-up against 16-year-old Aussie talent Emerson Jones, while she has also been dealt a kind quarter as she is projected to play Paolini for a spot in the semis.
Iga Swiatek (Poland)
The Australian Open hasn't been a particularly happy hunting ground for Swiatek, making it past the fourth round only once before - a semi final appearance in 2022.
However, she is a US Open winner in 2022 and is capable of challenging if she brings her best form.
Rybakina could be Swiatek's semi-final opponent but the likes of Sabalenka and Gauff are on the other side of the draw.
Best Bets - Women's singles - Australian Open 2025
Australian Open winner - Aryna Sabalenka - $3.40
Sabalenka being at longer odds to win the title than Sinner ($2.10) is interesting, considering how dominant she is on hardcourt and at the Australian Open in particularly.
It's going to take mighty performance for anyone to beat her and this price represents significant value as to the $2.50 she should be sitting at.
Reach Quarter-Finals - Jasmine Paolini - $4.00
Paolini made two major finals in 2024 - admittedly both at the French Open and Wimbledon - but also made the fourth round at the two hardcourt slams.
The Italian fourth seed has what could be perceived to be an easier fourth with the likes of Beatriz Haddad Maia, Katie Boulter and Elina Svitolina the seeds she needs to contend with.
Win Australian Open without dropping a set - Aryna Sabalenka - $23
Having only dropped one set on her way to her last two Australian Open titles, Sabalenka represents massive value to win the title without losing a set.
She also won the US Open last year with the loss of only one set.
