The Wallabies entered this year's Rugby Championship in bright form, having won their first three games of the Joe Schmidt era.

Two wins over Wales and a victory over Georgia helped brighten the mood in the Wallabies camp after a horror 2023, but some major bumps then came in the tournament.

The Sporting News looks at the Wallabies' record in the competition and the last time they won.

When did the Wallabies last win The Rugby Championship?

The Wallabies have only won The Rugby Championship once in the 12-year history of the competition, coming in 2015.

Even then, the win came in a shortened version of the championship due to the Rugby World Cup taking place later in the year, meaning teams only played each other once.

Australia won all three games, including a dramatic win over old foes New Zealand in Sydney, where they scored three tries in a 27-19 victory.

They also beat South Africa by four points in Brisbane, helping them secure the trophy.

The Wallabies history in The Rugby Championship

In defence of the Wallabies, South Africa has also only managed to win The Rugby Championship once, with this also coming in a shortened season where South Africa also ended up winning the World Cup.

New Zealand's record in the competition is imperious, having won 10 of the 12 editions since 2012.

They won comfortably last season, winning all three games and only conceding 39 points.
