Tigers CEO Shane Richardson intervened during a frosty press conference on Monday night.

Head coach Beni Marshall and captain Api Koroisau fronted the media following their defeat to the Eels at CommBank Stadium.

The initial bunch of questions were related to the game itself, before the elephant in the room – Lachlan Galvin's absence – was addressed.

Galvin was dropped to reserve grade after he informed the Tigers last week that he would depart the club at the end of 2026.

Following the young playmaker's initial decision, Tigers teammates took to social media to express their views, while input from the likes of Koroisau and Jarome Luai saw Marshall opt to replace Galvin with Doueihi in the halves.

The impact of the Galvin saga on the Tigers' Round 7 preparation was brought up a few minutes in the Easter Monday post-match press conference.

"Api, how important is it that you block out this Lachie Galvin drama moving forward? And I take it you..." a journalist said, before Richardson stepped in.

Koroisau and Marshall both looked over to the Tigers supremo and cracked smiles.

"Richo it’s a legitimate question, I just want to know," the journalist then said in the direction of Richardson.

"It’s been a big story, Benji just said himself it’s been a tough week ... how is it you don’t let this affect the boys going into next Sunday?"

Koroisau responded to the question in a simple manner.

"We get together, we’re here to play footy, we just have to focus on that."

The Tigers' next match is a Sunday afternoon showdown with the Sharks.

Marshall was quizzed by another reporter about the possibility of Galvin returning to the playing group and potentially regaining his starting spot ahead of Round 8.

"They never let him out," the Tigers legend-turned-coach said.

"I saw them at training, training pretty well with him, (he) mixed in, so I don’t think there was a drama."
