Ajla Tomljanovic has been knocked out of Australian Open 2025 in the second round by Diana Schnaider.
The crowd favourite was one of just three Aussie women remaining in the draw. But the 31-year-old was sent packing by Schnaider who claimed a 6-4, 7-5 win at John Cain Arena.

How much prize money will Ajla Tomljanovic make from Australian Open 2025?
With her second round exit in the singles at the hands of the 12th seed, Tomljanovic will pocket AUD$200,000.
She progressed through into the second round of her home tournament for the sixth time after beating Ashlyn Krueger in a three-setter.
The win came as sweet revenge for the Aussie who lost to the 20-year-old American just nine days prior in Adelaide.
However, the wildcard entry came unstuck against Schnaider as she lost in straight sets. She remains without an appearance in the third round at her home tournament.
Meanwhile, the winner in the men’s and women’s will each pocket AUD$3.5 million in 2025.
The runner’s up for the men’s and women’s will earn AUD$1.9 million.
