Alex de Minaur will be aiming for his 10th career title when he takes on superstar Carlos Alcaraz in the ATP Rotterdam final on Monday morning (AEDT).

De Minaur has never beaten Alcaraz in an official match, but has defeated the Spaniard twice in exhibition matches in Australia over the past 13 months.

Can the Aussie start defeating some of the behemoths of the game? Or will it be the same story of him falling short against the best?

De Minaur would have been hopeful of cracking the top five for the first time, but fifth-ranked Casper Ruud has reached the ATP 500 Dallas final.

The 25-year-old hasn't dropped a set on his way to the decider, defeating David Goffin, Jakub Mensik, Daniel Altmaier and Bellucci.

Despite the devastation of being thrashed in the Australian Open quarter-finals by Jannik Sinner, De Minaur has now won 30 of his past 31 matches against players ranked outside the top 10.
