The halfback merry-go-round in the NRL continues to spin with Jamal Fogarty to leave Canberra at the end of the season.
The Raiders' No.7 had been locked in contract negotiations for the past few months with Ricky Stuart keen to secure the veteran.
Fogarty had an option for 2026 in his deal that the Green Machine didn’t take up before Round 6, as they instead tried to negotiate fresh terms with him.
However, Daly Cherry-Evans’ bombshell decision to depart from Manly at the end of the campaign suddenly saw the Sea Eagles enter into the equation.

Jamal Fogarty to exit Canberra as Manly find DCE replacement
"I basically said, 'If you have got a big deal out there mate that’s going to be the best thing for Kahlia and the girls, you take that' but I want him at the club," Stuart told Fox League in late March.
"I don’t know where they are with Manly at the moment, but I’m not too concerned either."
Manly have managed to get their man though with a three-year deal inked by the former Gold Coast playmaker for next season onwards, according to CODE Sports.
Fogarty arrived in the nation’s capital in 2022 after previously breaking into the NRL at the Titans three years earlier.
The halfback played 41 games on the Glitter Strip before the Raiders signed him.
He has since registered over 50 appearances for the club, notching double digits for try assists in all of his completed campaigns so far.
The 31-year-old’s strong kicking game and ability to guide his side around the park understandably attracted the Sea Eagles. And they successfully made their move to make him DCE’s replacement on the Northern Beaches.
Canberra could now be set to place their faith in Ethan Sanders in the halves after signing him from Parramatta.
The former Eel could form a partnership with fellow young gun Ethan Strange in the nation’s capital in 2026 following Fogarty’s exit.
