Lakers rookie Bronny James has to navigate an injury for the first time this season.

Year 1 has gotten out to a trying start for James. After making history alongside his father on opening night, James has seen limited minutes with the Lakers and has yet to find his stride with the South Bay Lakers, L.A.'s NBA G League affiliate.

Now, James will have to overcome a slight injury setback as he looks to get his performance back on track.

What is Bronny James' injury?

James' injury is a left heel contusion, according to the NBA's official injury report.

It is unclear when James suffered the injury, but he was placed on the report after playing 26 minutes in a loss to the Stockton Kings on Sunday, Nov. 17.

How long will Bronny James be out?

The Lakers have not provided a timeline for James' injury.

James missed the Los Angeles Lakers' NBA Cup game with the Jazz on Tuesday, Nov. 19 after entering the game as "doubtful." The South Bay Lakers are back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 20 when they travel to San Diego County to face the San Diego Clippers in an NBA G League game.

Based on reporting that James would not play in away games with South Bay, he may not be available Wednesday despite the proximity of South Bay's opponent.
