Alex de Minaur has reached a career-best Australian Open fourth round for the fourth time after eclipsing Francisco Cerundolo in four hard-fought sets at Rod Laver Arena on Saturday.
The eighth seed lost the first set but eventually grinded the Argentine 31st seed down, winning 5-7 7-6(3) 6-3 6-3 in three hours, 53 minutes.

Cerundolo fought hard but physically flagged as the match went on, needing treatment for cramp during the third set.
De Minaur will now face talented American Alex Michelsen in the fourth round as he bids to reach the quarter-finals at Melbourne Park for the first time.

Alex de Minaur vs. Francisco Cerundolo prediction
In the first meeting between the duo, De Minaur will be a short-priced favourite based on ranking and his ability on hardcourt compared to Cerundolo.
Cerundolo is an accomplished player on clay and has even won a grasscourt title, but success has eluded him on hardcourt throughout his career.
However, the right-hander has some decent hardcourt wins in the past six months over the likes of Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev and Jakub Mensik.
There is no doubt Cerundolo will propose a tougher challenge than Tristan Boyer for De Minaur, but it is one the Australian should handle without too many issues.
The winner will face a tough fourth round match against either 19th seed Karen Khachanov or rising American talent Alex Michelsen.
Prediction: De Minaur in four sets.
