Australia will be participating in the women's rugby sevens tournament at the Olympics once again, as they look to bounce back from a disappointing showing in Tokyo.

Coming into the 2020 Games as defending champions, Australia were bundled out in the quarter-finals in what was a below par defence of their crown, and they will be keen to make amends in Paris.

It won't be easy, with a clutch of talented teams standing in their way.

Australia is one of the favourites to win at least a bronze medal at the upcoming Olympic tournament in Paris, and is ranked as the second-favourite to go all the way and win gold begin Trans-Tasman foes New Zealand.

Host nation France is the best placed team to challenge the pair, but are given an outside shot of reaching the gold medal match.
