Ramirez (29-2) is a former world champion who is 3-1 in his last four fights. The 32-year-old has 18 wins via knockout and looks to return to being a title contender. Ramirez is dangerous, but Haney believes the fight is his for the taking.
"This is a great fight on paper, but it’s a mismatch. Ramirez has a tailor-made style for me. I know he’s gonna put on the pressure. If he comes in stupid, then I will put him down," Haney said.
Former unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez (20-1) defends the WBO and Ring super lightweight titles against Arnold Barboza Jr. (32-0). Both have showcased disdain for one another, almost coming to blows before fight night. A unique individual, Lopez is smiling now but will have his game face on when the bell rings.
"We’re going to go out there and do what I have to do. I’m going to have fun and beat the brick out of this boy," Lopez said.
