The Roosters have been labelled the clear favourites to sign Daly Cherry-Evans.
After the veteran halfback announced his decision to leave Manly at the end of the current season, rumours have swirled regarding the 36-year-old's future.
The Tricolours were linked with DCE as early as March, with further reports in April declaring they were the most likely to secure his signature.
According to journalist Andrew Webster, Trent Robinson's side are now unbackable favourites to finalise a deal.

"If I were framing a market, they (the Roosters) are a $1.03," Webster said on NRL 360.
The Roosters currently sit 13th on the NRL ladder after an underwhelming 3-5 start to their campaign.
An initial halves duo of Sandon Smith and Chad Townsend failed to click, which saw the latter replaced by Hugo Savala.
With Townsend likely to hang up the boots at season's end, the Bondi-based club are likely to be on the lookout for another experienced playmaker.
Star halfback Sam Walker is set to return from a knee injury in the coming months, although depth will be crucial.

Cherry-Evans recently informed Queensland coach Billy Slater that he is also ready to continue playing on at Origin level, according to The Courier Mail.
This led NRL 360 host Braith Anasta to question whether the Sea Eagles' all-time appearances leader owes it to the Brookvale faithful to focus exclusively on club football in 2025.
"Mal (Meninga) said it best that when these opportunities come up in your career, you’re a long time retired, so you take them all," Paul Crawley responded.
"But from the Manly side of it, DCE won a premiership in his first year in 2011, he’s been at that club on big money for a long time and has played incredible football for them, but they haven’t won the comp since and this is his last shot.
"I can’t see how a 36-year-old halfback is going to come back from a gruelling Origin series and be fresher for the run home to the finals."
