Canelo (62-2-2) beat Caleb Plant for the IBF super middleweight title and became undisputed at 168. He was stripped of the belt after not facing then-mandatory challenger Scull. Scull (23-0) beat Vladimir Shishkin for the belt to secure a true shot at Canelo.
An enticing matchup on the card is Martin Bakole (21-2) vs. Efe Ajagba (20-1). Bakole had a ten-fight win streak snapped after taking a last-minute fight against Joseph Parker in February. The 33-year-old has 16 wins via knockout and is ranked sixth in the WBA's heavyweight rankings and tenth by the IBF.

Ajagba is ranked third in the IBF's rankings. A multi-time amateur champion, the 31-year-old is on a five-fight win streak. He hopes an impressive win will be enough to face the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois rematch on July 19 for undisputed heavyweight gold.
"I'm not overstepping. I'm just focused on Martin Bakole first," Ajagba told Sky Sports. "After that, when I get the victory, that's when I'm going to step up to fight who I want to fight next. Whether it's Usyk or Dubois. I have the abilities, I have the skills, I have the power, everything to become a heavyweight champion."
Also on the card, Bruno Surace (26-0-2) faces Jaime Munguia (44-2) in a rematch after the former beat Munguia in the 2024 Upset of the Year. Meanwhile, Badou Jack (28-3-3) defends the WBC cruiserweight title against Norair Mikaeljan (27-2).
