The Bills will host the Broncos in the wild-card round of the 2025 NFL playoffs on Sunday afternoon. Playoff football in Buffalo is always at risk of bad weather. as the city is subject to lake-effect precipitation which can dump feet of snow in mere hours.
The good news for Denver is that it is accustomed to cold weather. The Broncos may not enjoy playing in the cold weather, but they are at least more used to it. Still, high winds or snow blowing across the field can easily mess with a football's trajectory. It could cause the teams to abandon the pass and try to run the ball more, and it could take kicking from longer distances off the table.
Here are the latest weather updates for Sunday's Bills-Broncos wild-card game.

Bills vs. Broncos start time
- Date: Sunday, January 12
- Start Time: 1 p.m. ET
Kickoff from Highmark Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET. This is bad news for the game just because the NFL may not want to delay the start so the game doesn't run into the mid-afternoon playoff game. If it does now, we will likely see plenty of fans at the stadium helping to shovel, but for now, it doesn't sound like enough snow will fall to delay the start of the game more than a few minutes.
