The Lions turned in one of the best regular seasons in franchise history in 2024, but major postseason success still eludes them.
After coming up short early in the divisional round, Detroit has made a few moves in the margins. It now has used the 2025 NFL Draft to address needs to remain atop the extremely competitive NFC North.
While the spotlight and pressure will be on Dan Campbell's group in 2025, they've proven to be largely unfazed by outside noise. They've now added a group of first-year talents whom the team hopes fits that culture.
The Sporting News tracked each of the Lions' 2025 NFL Draft selections, from the first through the seventh round.

Lions NFL Draft needs
- Offensive line: Competitive teams remain competitive by improving in the trenches, and interior offensive line depth is paramount for a Lions team that often makes a living by punishing teams on the ground. An heir apparent to 32-year-old guard Graham Glasgow could be in the cards in Round 1 or 2.
- Pass rush: Last year's string of unfortunate injuries showed just how important defensive depth is to a playoff run. Aidan Hutchinson's return will be major, but adding more pass rushers will keep Detroit's defense humming at an elite level and keep Hutchinson fresher for the postseason push.
- Secondary: The defensive depth isn't limited to the pass rush. Secondary rises to the same level of importance as the pass rush and is another need the Lions will almost certainly address during this year's draft.
