Chiefs draft picks 2025: Who did Kansas City take? Full list of NFL Draft selections image

The Chiefs' dynasty wasn't over the first time they came up short in the Super Bowl, but is it over now?

Kansas City's quest for a historic three-peat in 2024 ended brutally, but so long as Patrick Mahomes is in his prime, the Chiefs will always have a chance. Mahomes will be 30 this season, meaning it is paramount for Kansas City to add young talent to develop alongside its generational quarterback.

That's where this year's NFL Draft comes in.

As the Super Bowl runners-up, the Chiefs were set to make the second-to-last pick on Day 1 — though after a draft day trade with the Eagles, they moved back one spot. That was the first of the franchise's four top-100 picks, so there were plenty of opportunities to add talent.

The Sporting News tracked each of the Chiefs' 2025 NFL Draft selections, from the first through the seventh.

Chiefs NFL Draft needs

  • Running back: They were playing from behind, but it's worth noting that in the Super Bowl, Chiefs running backs combined for a total of 24 yards on seven carries. Kansas City's RB corps had highlights during the season, but injuries and circumstances had an impact, and backfield depth would be useful.
  • Secondary: Finding a cornerback and/or safety who fits the Chiefs' coverage scheme would be extremely helpful for this team's need to stay young and active. It works hand-in-hand with the pass rush, and Kansas City needs to be able to continue to get it done on defense.
  • Interior defensive line: More defense. After some turnover on the interior line, the Chiefs should be expected to target a young defensive tackle to develop and, again, add a timeline of youth to extend the dynastic run.
