Nick Kyrgios insists he has the greatest tennis IQ of all time - ahead of the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

The enigmatic Australian is making his return to tennis from injury across the next month culminating in the Australian Open, having not played competitively since June 2023.

In an interview on the podcast Let's Trot Show, Kyrgios was asked to create the perfect tennis player and claimed his IQ was greater than any of the recent tennis legends, citing his run to the Wimbledon 2022 decider without a tactician.

"I've played against Djokovic, Federer, Nadal and [Andy] Murray. I have a higher tennis IQ than them," Kyrgios said.

KYRGIOS NEWS:

"I don't know if anyone in the history of tennis has reached the Wimbledon final without a coach. So, as far as IQ is concerned, I would choose myself."

In regards to serving, Kyrgios also stated he was the best in the business.

"I’ll give myself the serve," he said.

"I think I have the best serve pound for pound. I’m not the tallest out there, but my variation, rhythm, and ability to mix it up stand out."

Kyrgios is scheduled to make his return from chronic knee and wrist injuries at the World Tennis League in Abu Dhabi on December 19.

He will then play in the Brisbane International at the end of December in preparation for the Australian Open, which commences on January 12.
