After a dramatic couple of weeks, the showpiece of the 2025 Magic Millions carnival looks set to go down on Friday, January 17.
The first of two race meetings was moved to the Sunshine Coast at the last minute after a section of the Gold Coast track was damaged in a suspected poisoning incident.
Inclement weather then saw this meet abandoned and pushed to Friday night, putting the new lights at the Gold Coast Turf Club to good use.

With the drama now, hopefully, in the rear-view mirror, the racing can get underway.

When is the 2025 Magic Millions?
The second meeting of the carnival goes down on the new date of Friday, January 17.
Race one will begin at 5:30pm AEST/6:30pm AEDT, while the feature races will start as follows:
- Magic Millions 2YO Classic: 6:03pm AEST/7:03pm AEDT (Race 2)
- Magic Millions 3YO Guineas: 7:45pm AEST/8:45pm AEDT (Race 5)

In what shapes as an open betting race, La Bella Boom and Memo currently share favouritism at $6.50 but there appears to be plenty of live chances across the big field.

The two feature races of the evening - the 2YO Classic and 3YO Guineas - are worth $3million, while the Magic Millions Cup is now worth $2million.
