Penrith made it a remarkable four premierships on the bounce as they knocked off the Melbourne Storm in the decider.

The golden run shows no sign of slowing down, but can Ivan Cleary's men make it five in a row in 2025?

Yet again they will have to deal with some key departures due to their sustained success, although with Nathan Cleary in full flow the Panthers will be confident of re-writing history in the NRL once again.

2025 PREDICTED TEAM LISTS : Broncos | Raiders | Bulldogs | Dolphins | Sharks | Titans | Sea Eagles | Storm | Knights | Cowboys | Eels | Rabbitohs | Dragons | Roosters | Warriors | Tigers

Penrith Panthers 2025 season preview

Jarome Luai and James Fisher-Harris have been key components of the side's triumphs over the past four years and will be major misses.

Luai formed a formidable halves partnership alongside Cleary but has opted to go it alone at the Wests Tigers, while Fisher-Harris was granted an early release from his deal on compassionate grounds.

Sunia Turuva will also need to be replaced on the wing with the Fijian flyer joining Luai at Concord.

Yet despite the massive departures, the Panthers have shown in the past that they can solve their problems from within with the next raft of talent off the production line stepping up to the job.

Will this prove to be the case once again, or will the men from the foot of the mountain finally be reeled back into the chasing pack?

Panthers latest team news ahead of Round 1

Daine Laurie dislodged Sunia Turuva from the wing towards the end of last season but went on to be bumped by the Fijian international during the finals.

The former Tiger may be at the front of the queue to replace Turuva now he has moved on, although Casey and Jesse McLean will also have his eye on the vacant jersey.

Paul Alamoti will be the first choice centre right from the start of the campaign after he claimed the spot following Taylan May's exit mid-season.

Who will partner Nathan Cleary in the halves remains a mystery following Jarome Luai's exit.

Blaize Talagi has been signed from Parramatta and may get the nod, with Jack Cole and Brad Schneider also in the running.

Lindsay Smith is set to replace James Fisher-Harris up front, while new recruit Isaiah Papali'i will likely earn a spot on the edge ahead of Scott Sorensen

Liam Henry, Luke Garner and Matthew Eisenhuth will be battling for spots on the pine.
