Brandon Ingram trade details: Pelicans star forward heads to Raptors ahead of trade deadline image

Are you not entertained? In one of the craziest NBA trade deadlines in history, the Pelicans have traded forward Brandon Ingram to the Raptors. This move followed Jimmy Butler getting traded to the Warriors earlier Wednesday night.

The 27-year-old began his career with the Lakers in 2016 and played with that franchise for three seasons. Ingram was included in a trade package in 2019 that saw him head to New Orleans in exchange for power forward Anthony Davis. Ingram has developed into a solid role player since joining the Pelicans, and now he takes his talents to Toronto.

Unfortunately, Ingram doesn't automatically join a contender. The Pelicans are riding the struggle bus and are 12-39. Ingram goes from one struggling team to another as the Raptors are 16-35. Technically, Toronto is much closer to sneaking into a playoff spot, being only 5.5 games behind the Bulls. New Orleans was 14 games behind Dallas in the Western Conference.

Here's a look at the full trade between the Pelicans and the Raptors, as reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.
