An NRL rising star has been given a shot to make the NFL, with the Philadelphia Eagles extending a training camp invite to Carsen Patu.
Patu, a former member of the Manly Sea Eagles Jersey Flegg (U21) side, will look to follow in the footsteps of current Philly star Jordan Mailata, who also has a rugby league background.
An impressive training camp from the youngster could see him join Mailata and Laekin Vakalahi as Aussies on the Philadelphia roster, as they search for a second-straight championship.

Patu - a six-foot-one former front rower - will be primarily playing linebacker or edge rusher, working with Conquest Athletic Performance to make the switch to the American code.
He has also previously played for the Burleigh Bears, with a tantalising mix of strength and speed endearing him to the Eagles front office.
