The Milwaukee Bucks’ season came to a painful end, with a fourth-quarter collapse and overtime loss to eliminate them from the 2025 NBA playoffs.
The loss now raises a much bigger question: was this Giannis Antetokounmpo’s final game as a Buck? With Milwaukee’s season officially over, Danny Green gave a brutally honest take:
"If this is Giannis' last game in a Milwaukee Bucks uniform, this is one of the worst ways for him to leave,” Green said on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back.”
In the final 30 seconds of overtime, Gary Trent Jr. had two costly turnovers, sealing the Bucks’ season despite having just one turnover before that in the whole series.
While speculation swirls, it’s important to note that Antetokounmpo is still under contract through the next two seasons, earning roughly $113 million, with a $62.8 million player option for 2027–28.
Now 30, Antetokounmpo is once again a top three Most Valuable Player finalist and is set to earn his seventh consecutive All-NBA First Team honor.

It’s also been four years since Milwaukee’s championship run, when Antetokounmpo’s prime was still just beginning.
Milwaukee’s championship window has now closed. His supporting cast is getting older, and the team has now had first round exits for the third consecutive season.
Next year, Antetokounmpo will be on an expiring contract, and teams won’t be eager to trade major assets for someone who could be a one-year rental. Trading him now gives them the best possible return.
Antetokounmpo changed everything for the Bucks. He led them to a place they hadn’t reached since the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar days. But trading him now could speed up the rebuild if they start now.
