The 2024 WTA Finals take place from Saturday, November 2 until Saturday, November 9 in Saudi Arabia.

The traditional end to the season sees the finest eight singles players and doubles teams on the WTA Tour compete for the right to be declared year-end champion.

What's more, in the singles competition, the right to be confirmed as the No. 1 in the world for the end of 2024 is also up for grabs, with Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek contesting that particular honour.

We will also see a record amount of prize money made available to the singles champion. The Sporting News breaks down how that will look below.

WTA Finals 2024 prize money: How much will winner earn?

The 2024 WTA Finals will see the champion earn a record amount of prize money, with a maximum of $5.15 million on offer should a player win all their matches.

The singles champion will win a minimum of $4.45m, which surpasses the previous highest prize-money total of $4.42m earned by Ash Barty at the 2019 event.

The total prize pool for the singles event at the 2024 WTA Finals is $12.2 million. In the doubles, the total figure is $15.25m.

WTA Finals 2024 qualified singles players

The singles event includes two groups of four players — the eight best in the world this year. There are also two on-site "alternates" who are ready to step in for any players that withdraw from the first phase for reasons such as injury.

They are split into two groups of four for the round-robin event.
