Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter has finally addressed the swirling rumors connecting him with the Manchester United job, amid growing pressure on current boss Erik ten Hag.
Potter, who has been out of work since his brief Chelsea stint ended in April 2023, remains a hot topic in football circles, with many wondering if he could be the next man in charge at Old Trafford.

Potter on Man Utd: Keeping his options open
Speaking to Sky Sports on Monday Night Football, Potter was quick to play down the speculation. "I'm the only coach in world football to be linked with Stoke City and Napoli in the same week," he joked.
However, Potter did hint that he’s open to new challenges, stating, "I don't think anything is impossible, but jobs are difficult. That's the reality of life in the Premier League."
Potter also sympathized with Manchester United’s recent struggles, pointing out their failure to convert chances. "Sometimes teams go through phases where results don't reflect performances," he said, adding that scrutiny at a big club like United is inevitable when you're outside the top six.
As pressure mounts on Erik ten Hag, Potter's name keeps coming up, especially since United's new sporting director, Dan Ashworth, worked closely with Potter at Brighton. This connection has fueled rumors of a possible reunion at Old Trafford.

Potter didn’t just stop at Manchester United. He also addressed links to the England job, following Gareth Southgate’s resignation after Euro 2024. “Of course, it's a fantastic job,” Potter said, while also being supportive of whatever decision the FA makes.
While Manchester United fans might be eager for a change, it seems the Englishman is keeping his cards close to his chest, open to all opportunities that come his way.
