The Texans were handed their first loss of the season to the Vikings.

Minnesota's defense remained strong early in the season, holding Houston's offense to just one touchdown in a 34-7 victory.

It picked off Texans star quarterback CJ Stroud on the first drive of the game and Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold turned it into points going the other way, connecting with Justin Jefferson for an easy touchdown.

Houston missed a field goal on the next possession and Minnesota answered again, this time on a pitch-and-catch between Darnold and Aaron Jones to give the Vikings a quick 14-0 lead that they wouldn't surrender.

The Texans' offensive struggles directly impacted wide receiver Nico Collins' production in the first half. Fantasy managers were starting to panic about their starting weapon's availability for Sunday's game.

Is Nico Collins playing today?

Yes, Collins was fully healthy for the Texans' matchup against the Vikings. He just didn't have his usual involvement in the passing game in the first half.

Stroud didn't give Houston's offense much momentum in this one. He favored wide receiver Stefon Diggs early on, targeting the marquee offseason acquisition a team-high six times for five receptions and 57 yards in the first half.

Collins has joined other pass-catchers like Tank Dell, Robert Woods and Dalton Schultz with one reception each. Dare Ogunbowale hauled in one target out of the backfield, too.

Fantasy managers who practiced patience were somewhat rewarded in the second half.

Collins finished the game with 10 targets for four receptions and 86 yards — a decent 12.6-point fantasy performance in PPR leagues.

His 10 targets were second to Diggs (14) for the most on the team, while running back Cam Akers stole the only receiving touchdown of the game.

Collins has still been one of the best receivers in the NFL this season with his 338 yards leading all players through three weeks.
