Luton Town vs Arsenal final score, result and highlights as Declan Rice scores added-time winner image

Declan Rice rescued the Premier League leaders in the 97th minute with a superb header to steal three points at Kenilworth Road.

The Gunners twice threw away their lead to Luton Town but prevailed in added time thanks to the club's record signing. It's a result that sees Mikel Arteta's men open up a five-point lead over Liverpool, and maybe more importantly, a six-point gap over Pep Guardiola's champions.

Arsenal twice went ahead, through Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus but Rob Edwards' men clawed their way back level and even took a shock lead around the hour mark through Ross Barkley. Jesus' bizarre record of never losing a Premier League game in which he has scored remains intact - it is still the most games a player has scored in the league's history without ever losing one.

You can argue that two of the three Luton goals came as a result of yet more mistakes by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya. The first came from a corner, where Raya failed to meet the ball mid-air, allowing Elijah Adebayo to rise highest and head it into the net. The second blunder saw Raya nutmegged by Barkley's weak foot, which gave the home side the lead.

Importantly for Arteta, Kai Havertz appears to have found his goal-scoring boots as he has now scored three goals in his last four appearances, as many as managed in his previous 32 games.

Arsenal's next clash involves a trip to Villa Park, a place where three points will be incredibly hard to come by. On the other hand, Luton welcome another Premier League giant to Kenilworth Road as they face Man City on Sunday.

Luton Town vs Arsenal live updates, highlights from Premier League

97th minute: GOAL! WE'VE GOT THE WINNER! Who else but Declan Rice?! It's a glorious header right in front of the travelling Gunners and that away end explodes. It's a superb header and a huge goal for Arsenal's Premier League hopes.

90th minute: SIX minutes of added time. Will we get a winner?

87th minute: It's another opportunity for Havertz but he can't direct his header either side of Kaminski.

83rd minute: This is better from Arsenal. Luton are struggling to get out of their own half as the Gunners have them penned in. But can they get the winner?

79th minute: Penalty shout for Arsenal! Saka is too quick for Osho and the Luton defender can't get out of his way. VAR takes a look but the check is complete.

74th minute: It feels as though the Gunners are looking for the perfect goal at the minute. They need to start having a few attempts at Kaminski's goal if they're to win this match.

70th minute: Jesus can't keep his balance as he tries to fire in a cross and it goes out for a goal-kick. Arsenal aren't quite pushing hard enough for the winner right now.

64th minute: Saka and Jesus combine well but the latter is offside and it's a wasted attack.

60th minute: GOAL! 3-3! Havertz draws Mikel Arteta's men level after a sensational assist from Jesus. Game on!

57th minute: GOAL! IT'S 3-2 TO LUTON! Barkley slots it through Raya's legs, who makes another mistake! He really should be saving that.

49th minute: GOAL! LUTON ARE LEVEL! Adebayo rises highest from the corner as Raya fails to come and collect the ball.

46th minute: We're back underway for the second half!

HT: That's the end of a thrilling first half. Luton have done brilliantly well so far but two lapses of concentration and Arsenal have made them pay.

45th minute: GOAL! 2-1 Arsenal! Jesus fires the Gunners into the lead as he meets White's cross with his head at the back post.

44th minute: Ross Barkley goes into the book for his latest wild challenge, this time on Martinelli out wide.

37th minute: Arsenal had started to gain a bit more control after Luton drew level but the home side have thwarted their attacks so far.

32nd minute: What a save from Kaminski! He denies Martinelli a second with a fine save at the near post.

30th minute: Wow Luton's home support is up for this one. Every challenge, every pass and every foul is being cheered on.

25th minute: GOAL! 1-1! Luton equalise with a fantastic header by Osho. It's a great out-swinging corner by Alfie Doughty and there's not much Raya could have done about that header.

20th minute: GOAL! 1-0 Gunners! It's Martinelli who gives the visitors the lead after a poor pass back to Kaminski, who kicked the ball out for a throw-in. Jesus' swift decision-making finds Saka and he finds Martinelli who calmly slots it in.

11th minute: Barkley makes contact with Kiwior, as Luton continue to ruin Arsenal's rhythm. Despite the visitors dominating possession in the early stages, Luton are consistently disrupting their play with a series of fouls, with Saka being the latest player to be fouled.

5th minute: Mengi forcefully collides with Martinelli, causing him to fall to the ground. The medical trainer is on but the Brazilian is okay to continue.
