NFL Week 15 survivor picks

There's nothing like a good survivor sweat late in the season. The Rams and Ravens went back and forth on Sunday in a classic battle that could have gone either way.

The game wasn't decided until Tylan Wallace took a punt to the house for a 76-yard TD that helped the Ravens escape with a 37-31 OT victory.

As we forge ahead, it's those Rams leading our list of NFL Week 15 survivor picks.

NFL survivor picks for Week 15 of 2023 NFL season

Matthew Stafford was brilliant in L.A.'s loss at Baltimore with 294 yards passing and three TDs. The Rams still have a moderate chance to make the playoffs, and we're bullish on their chances to beat the visiting Commanders on Sunday.

We're also targeting a rejuvenated Cincinnati team and a Chiefs team that's showing some rust on their championship armor.

Here's who we like in Week 15.

Rams over Commanders

The Rams (6-7) had a three-game winning streak snapped on Sunday, but they looked every bit the playoff team against Baltimore.

Now comes a Washington team that's lost four straight contests and six of their last seven games. QB Sam Howell has been sacked a league-high 58 times. It could be a monster day for Aaron Donald, who leads the Rams with six sacks.

The Commanders (4-9) reside in the NFC East basement. It's hard to envision head coach Ron Rivera returning next season. Defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio was already fired, but it hasn't helped improve Washington's fortunes. The Commanders have given up 45 points in each of their last two games albeit to Miami and Dallas.

Bottom Line: The resurgence of the Rams has seen them score 31, 36, and 37 points in their last three games. Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua should feast on Sunday, and RB Kyren Williams (ankle) has been a beast since his return in Week 12 against Arizona. Williams has more than 300 total yards and three TDs in the last three games.

Bengals over Vikings

Cincinnati (7-6) rolled Indy, 34-14, due in large part to another inspired game by backup QB Jake Browning, who threw for 275 passing yards and two TDs. Browning was picked off once but also rushed for a score.

The Vikings (7-6) kept their playoff hopes alive with a 3-0 win at Las Vegas. It was the lowest scoring NFL game in 16 years. The honeymoon is over between the Vikings and Josh Dobbs, who struggled against the Raiders before getting pulled for Nick Mullens.

Meanwhile, the Bengals have scored 34 points in consecutive weeks under the direction of Browning, who struggled in his first start in a 16-10 loss to the Steelers.

Bottom Line: Jake-mania is in full effect in Cincinnati. The Bengals have also been sparked by RB Joe Mixon, who had more than 120+ combined yards rushing and receiving against the Colts. He's got three total TDs in the last two games. Back the Bengals for the outright win here.

Chiefs over Patriots

Don't look now, but the defending Super Bowl champs have lost three of their last four games. Kansas City (8-5) still leads the AFC West, but Denver is only a game back in the standings.

Take a look at K.C.'s remaining games:

  • Chiefs at Patriots
  • Raiders at Chiefs
  • Bengals at Chiefs
  • Chiefs at Chargers

The Patriots (3-10) are dead last in the AFC East, but are coming off a 21-18 win over the Steelers in a game that went OVER the lowest NFL total since 2006.

Patrick Mahomes is 2-2 in career starts against the Patriots. Tom Brady's long gone, though, and it'll be Bailey Zappe or Mac Jones at the helm on Sunday.

Bottom Line: Kansas City's in dire need of a get-right game. That's exactly what the Patriots -- who average a league-low 13 points per game -- will provide here.
