NBA Play-In Tournament live scores 2025: Updated results, TV schedule for games to set playoffs bracket image

The NBA postseason begins this week, as eight teams will battle for the four final playoff spots.

In the Western Conference, the Warriors and Grizzlies finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in a tight Western conference, as both teams were just one game away from tying for the No. 6 seed. Instead, the two teams will battle in San Francisco for the chance to play the Rockets in the playoffs.

Lower in the standings, the Kings and Mavericks have had a good idea that they would be playing each other in the No. 9 vs. No. 10 matchup. Sacramento will host the game, while Dallas looks to pull the upset in the loser-goes-home matchup, as both teams need to win two games to earn the right to play the Thunder in the playoffs.

Moving to the East, the four teams have known for a while that they would be in the Play-In Tournament. The Magic have had an injury-riddled season, but have a chance to make the playoffs by beating the Hawks at home on Tuesday night.

Then, the Bulls and Heat will play in Chicago for the chance to extend their seasons. The Orlando-Atlanta winner will play the Celtics in the playoffs, while the other team that emerges from the Play-In quagmire gets the Cavaliers this weekend.

The Sporting News is tracking live scores and highlights from the 2025 NBA Play-In Tournament.

9:30 p.m. — The Hawks surge in the third quarter to cut the Magic lead to 79-73. Trae Young had 14 points in the quarter and is picking up steam as this game heads to the fourth.

8:50 p.m. — Orlando leads 57-41 at halftime. The Magic have gotten a huge boost from their bench with 25 points. Atlanta has just 10 points from its reserves.

8:00 p.m. — The Magic lead 32-17 after the first quarter. Paolo Banchero is stuffing the stat sheet with seven points, five rebounds and five assist. He shot 7-8 from the free throw line. Orlando went on an 18-2 run to end the quarter.

Warriors vs. Grizzlies

1:00 a.m. — The Warriors hold on, and they'll advance to face the 2-seed Rockets on Sunday.

Jimmy Butler led the way with 38 points, and Stephen Curry wasn't far behind with 37. Golden State defeated Memphis, 121-116, with its two stars scoring 75 of the 121 points.

12:06 a.m. — Here come the Grizzlies.

Memphis outscores Golden State, 36-27, in the third quarter. The Grizzlies now face a three-point deficit heading into the final frame. The bigger concern is the health of Ja Morant, who rolled his ankle late in the third.

His availability may shape the Grizzlies' chances of pulling off the comeback.

11:15 p.m. — "Playoff Jimmy" has arrived to the Play-In Tournament.

Jimmy Butler has 21 points at the halftime break and the Warriors are taking a 12-point lead into the locker room. Since Memphis' quick start, everything is turning up Golden State.

10:40 p.m. — The Warriors lead 31-25 after a back-and-forth first quarter in the Bay. After Memphis got out to a quick nine-point lead, Golden State roared back to lead by double digits.

The Grizzlies, however, bounced back, closing the quarter on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to six points. The Chase Center crowd is rocking and the Warriors are feeding off of the energy.
