Quarterbacks are all the rage when it comes to the yearly NFL Draft. Teams that struggled the year before are hoping to find the difference maker who can help turn the franchise's fortunes around.

Heading into the 2024 college football season, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was one of the favorite options to lead the 2025 NFL Draft class. After a strong 2023 campaign, he struggled last season finishing with 2,844 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. While his passing numbers dipped, Milroe added 726 yards and an impressive 20 touchdowns on the ground. He had the second-most rushing touchdowns for quarterbacks, trailing only Army's Bryson Dally, who had 32.

Milroe's interception number forced him down draft boards, with more accurate quarterbacks being prioritized in early rankings of this year's class. The Alabama quarterback is arguably the best dual-threat QB available, but he needed to prove to teams at the NFL Combine and private workouts that he can become more accurate to complement his rushing upside.

It feels like Miami quarterback Cam Ward is destined to go to the Titans with the first overall pick in the draft. After that, there isn't really a consensus with the quarterbacks in this class.

Here's a rundown of where Milroe has been projected in the latest mocks from NFL Draft experts.

Jalen Milroe draft projections

Milroe's draft projections are all over the place. NFL analysts can't seem to lock down not only the round he is chosen in but also the team that selects him. He is going as early as the 24th overall pick in one mock and as late as the early fourth round in another.

Eric Edholm, NFL.com

Edholm's mock draft was released on April 21

If the pick number here makes you do a double-take, you are correct. The Giants hold the No. 3 overall pick, and Edholm doesn't have them trading back. Instead, the NFL analyst has New York taking Abdul Carter third overall. He then has the Giants trading back into the first round in a deal with the Vikings. His trade has the Giants giving up numbers 34, 99, and 105 in this draft to take Milroe off the board. The Alabama product is Edholm's fourth quarterback off the board in this mock.

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News

Iyer's latest mock draft was released on April 23

Iyer has Milroe landing with the Jets in the fourth round. The Alabama QB has a similar skill set to Justin Fields, who New York signed to a two-year, $40 million deal this offseason. The interesting thing about this landing spot isn't necessarily how far down Milroe is selected, but who at the position is taken in front of him. Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, Quinn Ewers, Dillon Gabriel, and Will Howard all go ahead of Milroe in this mock.

Chad Reuter, NFL.com

Reuter's latest NFL mock draft was released on April 18

Reuter has Cleveland taking Travis Hunter with the second overall pick in the draft. With the Browns likely not having Deshaun Watson for the 2025 season due to a re-ruptured Achilles tendon, Reuter adds to the quarterback room consisting of Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco with Milroe in the second round.

Dane Brugler, The Athletic

Brugler's latest NFL mock draft was released on April 16

  • Round 2, Pick 2: New York Giants

Brugler agrees with Edholm that Milroe lands with the Giants, he has him falling there naturally in the second round. He thinks New York will select Carter third overall and Milroe will be the fourth quarterback off the board overall — one spot after Dart lands with Cleveland.

Mel Kiper Jr. and Field Yates, ESPN

Kiper and Yates' latest NFL mock draft was released on April 15

Yates took Oregon DT Derrick Harmon with Pittsburgh's first-round pick. The pair of analysts agreed that a trade-up in the third round made sense for Pittsburgh, which doesn't have a second-round pick thanks to acquiring DK Metcalf from the Seahawks. The Steelers get No. 68 from the Raiders for No. 83 and a 2026 third-round pick. Milroe would join Skylar Thompson and Mason Rudolph in the quarterback room in Pittsburgh. This pick would allow the Steelers to work on developing Milroe while still pursuing veteran options like Aaron Rodgers or a trade for Kirk Cousins.
