LeBron James isn't sure anymore.
And given that it has often seemed like the Lakers superstar might play forever, that qualifies as a big deal.
James spoke about his future late Wednesday night after Los Angeles had its season ended in the first round of the NBA playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
"I don't know," James told reporters. "I don't have an answer to that. Something I'll sit down with my family, my wife and my support group and kind of just talk through it and see what happens. And just have a conversation with myself on how long I want to continue to play."

James, 40, has a player option to return to the Lakers next season for $52.6 million. The opt-in date is June 29, or he'd become a free agent.
This just concluded James' 22nd season in the NBA after he was the No. 1 pick in the 2003 draft.
He has spent 11 seasons with Cleveland (across two stints), seven with the Lakers and four in Miami.
LeBron is a 21-time All-Star, a four-time champion and a four-time MVP.
His career averages now sit at 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game.

He's the all-time leading scorer in NBA history, and earlier this season, he surpassed 50,000 combined regular season and postseason points.
The NBA, and the Lakers, will of course leave it totally up to LeBron.
He said that the question wasn't whether where he would play next season but, "just playing period."
"I don't know the answer to that right now, to be honest," James said. "So we'll see."
