Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Marcus Rashford — but they’re not willing to break the bank for him.
The Manchester United forward, currently on loan at Aston Villa, is understood to be dreaming of a move to Camp Nou this summer.
However, any deal will only go ahead if United lower their asking price. That’s the key condition.
Villa have an option to sign Rashford for £40 million at the end of the season. But with the 27-year-old now sidelined due to a hamstring injury, things have shifted. Barcelona are watching from the wings, interested, but only if the fee drops.
Rashford is said to be open to taking a significant pay cut to make the move happen. He sees Barcelona as a better long-term fit, especially with Champions League football on the table.
And given the frosty relationship he now has with United’s new setup under Ruben Amorim, a return to Old Trafford looks unlikely.

Why Barcelona are still interested in Marcus Rashford transfer move
According to sources in Spain (via The iPaper), Barcelona would love to bring in a wide forward who can also play centrally.
Rashford fits that bill. But money is tight at both clubs. United need sales to fund a squad rebuild, while Barcelona are still balancing their books.
The Red Devils want to bring in Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are eyeing Liam Delap as well. Those moves could cost over £100 million combined — cash they simply don’t have unless some players are sold.
Along with Rashford, the likes of Antony and Sancho are also on the chopping block. Rashford’s sale could be a win-win — if a deal can be struck.
It’s a classic case of both clubs needing something, but neither wanting to pay full price. The transfer window is a game of patience, and Rashford might be one pass away from finally playing at Camp Nou.
