UFC 310 preview
Pantoja (28-5) started his UFC journey on The Ultimate Fighter in 2016. He is currently on a six-fight win streak, competing in two rematches (one trilogy) during that stretch. Successfully defending the UFC flyweight title twice, the Brazilian is ready to continue his dominant run in the division.
Asakura (21-4) makes his UFC debut after years competing in Rizin. The 31-year-old is a two-time bantamweight champion, and he will move in weight, a proper one for him at that, to face Pantoja. The Japanese fighter has 13 wins via knockout and looks to enter the octagon with a literal bang.
“I’m a little bit different than the other fighters in the flyweight division, I have the ability to capitalize on one of his misses and put him to sleep,” Asakura told MMA Junkie. “That’s what I’m aiming for, and I think that’s what makes my challenge for this title fight different than anyone else.”“
