Davis Cup Finals 2024 tickets: Best prices to watch Rafael Nadal in final tennis match in November image

One of the greatest to ever do it is hanging up his racket. Rafael Nadal will compete his last tennis match in November, retiring as on of the most successful players ever.

He'll do so in his home country at the Davis Cup Finals, the largest team competition in the world, also known as the World Cup of tennis. With the knockouts in Málaga, Spain, it's the perfect homecoming.

"The reality is it has been some difficult years, these last two especially. I don’t think I have been able to play without limitations," Nadal said in a video posted to social media.

"It is obviously a difficult decision, one that has taken me some time to make, but in this life, everything has a beginning and an end, and I think it’s the appropriate time to put an end to a career that has been long and much more successful than I could have ever imagined."

Nadal will retire with 22 Grand Slam titles, 14 coming in the French Open, an Olympic gold medal and 209 weeks as ATP No. 1.

He's not done yet, though. In November, he'll compete for Spain in search of his country's seventh world championship, all on home court.
