The Alexandra Palace in London will once more host the PDC World Darts Championship, with the 2024/25 event beginning on Sunday, December 15.

While Luke Humphries is the defending champion, all eyes this year will be on teenage sensation Luke Littler, who caused a stir by reaching the final 12 months ago and has since produced dominant performances on the sport's global stage.

The world's finest players will convene at the famous venue in Haringey looking to walk away with the Sid Waddell trophy and a substantial amount of prize money.

The Sporting News breaks down how much the winner will earn, how the overall prize pot breaks down, and the bonus on offer for a nine-dart finish.

Is there a nine-darter bonus at the World Championship?

For the 2024/25 tournament, bookmaker Paddy Power has pledged to pay out a bonus of £180,000 for every nine-darter recorded.

A donation of £1,000 will also be made to Prostate Cancer UK as part of 'The Bigger 180' fundraising campaign in conjunction with UK broadcaster Sky Sports.

The £180,000 prize will be paid out whenever a player throws a 'perfect' game (hits the required score of 501 in just nine darts, the lowest possible number). It will be split between the charity, the player in question, and one lucky fan in the Alexandra Palace audience.
