Arsenal will seek to breathe new life into their dwindling Premier League title ambitions when high-flying Nottingham Forest visit the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's side are winless in their past four top-flight matches, collecting just two points over that period to lose touch with champions Manchester City and leaders Liverpool, who they trail by four and nine points respectively.

They're only above Nuno Espirito Santo's Forest by virtue of a solitary goal on goal difference.

A 3-1 defeat to Newcastle last time out snapped a run of three consecutive wins for the Reds but confidence levels among free-scoring target man Chris Wood and his team-mates should still be in a good place.

After beating Liverpool at Anfield and taking a point off Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Forest will be keen to put another illustrious nose out of joint.

Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka each made themselves unavailable for England action this month and Arteta will want his key men back in situ for what could be a pivotal week in Arsenal's season. The duo returned to training on Friday.

Ben White is sidelined after undergoing knee surgery, while forward Leandro Trossard is a fresh concern having picked up a knock during Belgium's defeat to Israel.

Riccardo Calafiori (knee) will be assessed and would be a welcome boost for a defensive department still lacking Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) and Kieran Tierney (hamstring).

Arsenal predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Raya (GK) — Timber, Gabriel, Saliba, Calafiori — Odegaard, Partey, Rice — Saka, Havertz, Martinelli

Injured: White, Trossard, Tierney, Tomiyasu, Rice (doubt), Saka (doubt), Calafiori (doubt)
