Scotland concluded their UEFA Nations League campaign on Monday in dramatic fashion as they defeated Poland 2-1 in Warsaw.
An injury-time goal from Liverpool's Andy Robertson secured a stunning victory after Kamil Piatkowski's incredible strike had cancelled out an early opener from John McGinn.
The result means the Tartan Army's 2024/25 Nations League campaign is not quite at an end.
Steve Clarke's side looked destined for relegation from Group A1 of the competition after consecutive losses to Poland and Portugal in September, plus a 2-1 defeat versus Croatia on October 12.
Things have turned around over the past three matchdays, however. A point against Portugal last month restored some morale, and last Friday's 1-0 win over 10-man Croatia — a result secured by McGinn's 86th-minute goal — set them up for what proved to be another dramatic encounter in Poland.
Below, The Sporting News looks at what comes next for Scotland.

Scotland UEFA Nations League permutations
After five matches in League A, Group 1, Scotland were bottom of the standings. They needed to win against Poland to avoid certain relegation to League B.
Robertson's last-gasp winner meant Poland finished bottom of the group and will definitely be dropping down to the second tier. For Scotland, it's a little less straightforward.
Their win saw them finish third in the group, a point behind Croatia, who took second place behind runaway leaders Portugal after drawing 1-1 with Roberto Martinez's team in their final match. That means Scotland must now prepare for a relegation playoff.
Did Scotland get relegated in UEFA Nations League?
Having finished third in their group, Scotland must now contest a relegation playoff against one of the team placed second in League B groups after the final matchday.
If they win that two-legged tie, they will be playing in League A again when the next Nations League season begins. If they lose it, they will be relegated to League B.
Who will Scotland play in Nations League relegation playoff?
Clarke's team do not yet know who they will face. That will be determined by this week's draw in Nyon, Switzerland.
Two possible opponents are Greece and Austria, who are certain to finish second in their League B groups. The final placings in all groups will be determined when matchday six concludes on Wednesday.
