Warriors' Jimmy Butler takes nasty fall after ugly undercut by Rockets' Amen Thompson image

Oof, that looked painful.

Jimmy Butler went up for a rebound for the Warriors on Wednesday night, but while in mid-air, Butler was undercut.

The Rockets' Amen Thompson came flying toward the play and got caught full speed in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

It had a scissoring effect on Butler, sending him flying hard onto the court without any chance to brace himself.

Butler stayed down, in obvious pain, before going to the locker room.

The Warriors trailed 22-15 with about two minutes left in the first quarter when Butler was hurt.

It's the nightmare scenario for Golden State if Butler has to miss time. His trade deadline acquisition was mightily energizing for the Warriors, who are 24-7 in games Butler has played across the regular season and postseason.

Butler's absence also meant the unexpected: Jonathan Kuminga checked into a game for the first time in more than a week.
