Canelo (62-2-2) beat Caleb Plant to become undisputed at super middleweight, only needing eleven months to do so. The four-division champion and future Hall of Famer was stripped of the IBF belt after not facing Scull (23-0), then a mandatory challenger. Scull (23-0) beat Vladimir Shishkin to win the IBF title.
The co-feature will see Badou Jack defending the WBC cruiserweight title against Norair Mikaeljan. Jack (28-3-3) last fought in 2023, beating Ilunga Makabu for the title. The 41-year-old believes he won't have ring rust on fight night.

"I don't think the layoff will be a factor. I think it's a good thing. It wasn't my choice, things happen, and now thanks to His Excellency, I have the opportunity to fight again," Jack said.
Mikaeljan (27-2) won the belt in 2023 but was named "champion in recess" by the WBC. He has 12 wins via knockout.
Meanwhile, Bruno Surace (26-0-2) looks to go 2-0 against former Canelo opponent and super welterweight champion Jaime Munguia (44-2). Surace shocked the world when he earned the 2024 Upset of the Year against Munguia. A relaxed Surace is ready to prove the win wasn't a fluke.
"I think the pressure is not with me. He has to avenge his loss, and I just have to give my best. The pressure is on his side," Surace said.
Martin Bakole (21-2) returns to the ring following a short-notice loss against Joseph Parker. He faces rising contender Efe Ajagba (20-1).
